Obama: ‘I think same-sex couples should be able to get married’

By Michael O’Brien

President Barack Obama endorsed the right of same-sex couples to marry on Wednesday, a landmark pronouncement made in light of mounting pressure from gay rights advocates.

Obama became the first U.S. president to back the right of gay and lesbian couples to marry, a reversal from views expressed during the 2008 campaign, when he said he opposed same-sex marriage but favored civil unions as an alternative.

Obama told ABC News that, after reflection, he had “concluded that for me personally it is important for me to go ahead and affirm that I think same-sex couples should be able to get married.”

Yes and while you’re at it you might as well pick another minority to back and cause more hate, discontent and division. It is starting to look like this “guy” isn’t too concerned about an election.

Divide and rule. I eagerly await his statement on the importance of not alienating the whole western world. You know the bit that says we won’t invade sovereign countries. Murder innocents by remote control drones. Give back all of the money stolen from citizens. Respect the rights of individuals…………

Quite a list, I doubt his morality or intellect stretch that far.

Distraction, indeed. Kind of like that birth control/catholic church thing they threw out there earlier this year to give Santorum a boost – right when the Congressman from TX started to put a scare into the establishment.
