Another $17 trillion surprise found in Obamacare

Senate Republican staffers continue to look though the 2010 health care reform law to see what’s in it, and their latest discovery is a massive $17 trillion funding gap.

“The more we learn about the bill, the more we learn it is even more unaffordable than was suspected,” said Alabama Sen. Jeff Sessions, the Republican’s budget chief in the Senate.

    The more we learn about the bill? With all due respect Senator, that’s why you should read it before you vote on it. Imagine how much it would slow things down if Senators and Congressmen actually had to read the bill before voting.

    • If these anal retentive control freaks like passing laws, here is one for them. Every law under consideration for a vote should be read aloud before any debate or vote is allowed; furthermore, every member of congress should be required to be present for the reading or they shall be expelled from Congress and forced to refund the treasury their pay to date as well as staff pay and other congressional expense. Pass something like that (it would require an amendment to the Constitution) and I guarantee you the number of bills proposed could be counted on one hand and their length would be no greater than 10 pages.
